Live Oak District is the southern most district in the Capitol Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. There are four counties in it which include: Caldwell, Gonzales, DeWitt, and Lavaca. Currently we serve around 600 youth with about 250 adult volunteers.

Hopefully, you will find any information you may need here or at least find a link to it.

District News:

We are trying to improve our monthly roundtable meetings and would love to see someone from each unit there. We are planning better round robins and skills building topics. As part of this, we know everyone can not always make it. So to improve on our communication, our District Executive has started to send out emails with the agenda so you will know what kinds of things will be happening as well as recaps. If you would like to be added to this email list, please email David at

District Banquet
Our District Banquet was held at the Lutheran Church in Gonzales on February 8th. We honored our newest Eagles and District Award of Merit winner and we had a great brisket dinner.

Congratulations to Kurt Regenbrecht, our newest District Award of Merit Award winner.

Billy Mikesh received a special award for all his hard work at Camp Green Dickson. This is an actual brush he was using to clean the grills so this award is being called the "A Scout is Thrifty" award.

Cub events at the Fall Camporee will include a fishing derby Saturday Morning as well as a rocket launch after lunch. For a flyer on all cub events, click here.
